Finish reading Section 1.3 of the text.

Try the following exercises (not-for-a-grade homework): p. 53: #3, 4, 13, 15, 23

Read: Textbook sections 1.1-1.3

Write up and turn in on Friday: Exercises from section 1.2, pages 36-40: #4, #10, #18(*)
* For #18, add e. For what range of years is this model plausible, and why?

Additional recommended exercises to study:
Section 1.2, pages 36-40, Exercises 3, 7, 14, 17, 23, 27.

The first shipment of books will be in the bookstore Monday or Tuesday (Feb 4 or 5). According to the textbook manager, there should be enough books in the first shipment for “the majority” of the class.
